Come On, Memphis! I went to the Grizzlies game last night, and man! Since I enjoy live sporting events, I had a blast. The game was great, but the crowd left a little to be desired. Memphis waited a long time to get this team, so I hope we can hang on to it. If we want to be treated like a major city, then we need to start acting like one. Sacramento is the same size as Memphis, and they have nothing but love for the Kings. We could learn something. Let's really get out there and show these guys how loyal we really can be. Memphis and the Grizzlies deserve better...And before I forget, may I just add that the Fedex Forum is awesome! We were on the floor, so we stopped by the Lexus Lounge. It is a really nice bar and restaurant where everybody goes before the game and during half-time. When the game was over, we walked to the Peabody and had some wine . I am sad to say that I could only window shop at one of my favorite stores in Memphis, Lansky's 126 (located inside of The Peabody), because it was closed. It was probably for the best. That place is dangerous to my wallet.

Yes, the Lexus Lunge is very nice!
The problem is the Pro team is bad and you have a top ranked college team in the same town. I went to several U of Memphis games last year. They were packed. It is hard to share a fan base for both. I am not sure what ticket prices are.
Hey...I was at that game too. Also on the floor and in both Lexus Lounge and the new floor ticket holders VIP Lounge. Lexus is always fun and the VIP Lounge is a nice idea, but the offering needs to get better if it is going to live up to the atmosphere at Lexus. You are absolutely right about the crowd. It was pitiful that night and hasn't been much better at any of the other games I've been at this year. We probably saw each other there since there weren't many other people. I actually met with some people involved in the Grizzlies business operations to share some ideas to build the business. We'll see if they listen. If they do, hopefully we'll see the crowds build again while waiting for the team to get better.
If you ever want an eclectic evening...go to a Grizzlies game and then go to Chez Phillipe for wine and dinner...quite a diverse experience!
